There's a counterintuitive truth about car security: the best outcome isn't defeating an active theft attempt. It's making sure your car is never selected as a target.
Organized theft crews, like the syndicates operating across Philadelphia, conduct surveillance before they act. They're looking for the path of least resistance. A Honda CR-V with no visible security is an easier target than the one parked next to it. Even if a crew has the equipment to defeat both, they're more likely to move on to an easier car.
